This past weekend Albondi 1 and I went to Universal Studios Hollywood Horror Nights. It was a first for both of us and we were beyond EXCITED!

We've gone to Knot's Scary Farm and kept hearing how much scarier Horror Nights is, so we finally decided to go.

When you're purchasing tickets, the Universal Studios website gives you the option to purchase different tickets; two of those options are either the Express or Express Unlimited. The major difference is that the Express allows you to enter attractions, either maze or ride, once. The Express Unlimited allows you to enter a ride or maze as many times as your heart desires. So if you find a favorite, you could keep seeing it over and over that night.

We've been to Universal Studios before during the regular admission hours non horror nights

and the lines were brutal. We remembered waiting in line for Revenge Of The Mummy, and noticed how people wearing lanyards headed to the front and we wondered why. My aunt who went with us told us Universal Studios has an add-on ticket you could purchase that would allow you to skip the line to the front. Her and her husband raved at how amazing the Unlimited tickets were, that sometimes you'd wait 5 min to board a ride. I then asked if it was similar to Disney's Fastpass to which she immediately replied NO. At Disney, even with a Fastpass you do wait 10-15 minutes but that's quicker than the regular line at sometimes 70+ minutes.

So when purchasing Horror Night tickets a few options popped up on our screens. We wasted no time being shocked by the price tag on just one ticket and chose Unlimited. We wanted the chance to enter rides and mazes more than once if we had the time.

The general admission to Horror Nights is between $69 - $99 depending on the day you choose to go. The closer to Halloween Day the more the price increases. For Express Unlimited it's between $259 - $379 per person. Ours was $269, we did go early in September.

Was it worth it?

Oh yea! To us it was but that doesn't mean it's for everyone. We don't live in California and when we go visit we are in a time crunch. So for us having already experienced Universal Studios without Express tickets we thought why not?

How fast was it?

Incredibly fast. At times it was too fast. Remember the lanyards? yea they didn't give us lanyards with our entry. We had paper tickets we had to show at each attraction, twice! We had to show our ticket before entering the line at each attraction and then prior to boarding or walking in it was scanned.

We stored our tickets in our phone case so we wouldn’t accidentally lose them in our pockets. It took longer to take our tickets out at each attraction than it did to enter. It truly was EXPRESS, Disney could add this? (: we’d love it!

The longest wait was for The Simpson Ride, not sure why either. The area the ride was in was a dead zone but anyway..

We could have entered the park at 6 pm but we decided to stop and eat before so we didn’t enter until a little past 7 pm. By 10 o'clock we had seen all but two of the mazes on the upper and lower levels and had gone on 4 rides. The park closed at 2 am so we had extra time to revisit a few of the mazes we really enjoyed, eat a delicious chili dog AND WATCH a UFC match on my phone, while Albondi 1 and I waited for our family to ride The Simpson Ride.

The next morning we ate at the BrokenYolk and caught a flight home.

It was an amazing weekend trip with no wait times!

Until next time! Byyeeeee
