About Us

Albondis Beginning

Every couple has names they use affectionately to call one another. For us it’s Albondi and if you have ever heard of albondiga soup, you know where we got it from. It’s pronounced ahl/BOHN/dee/gahs, but call us Ahl/BOHN/dee for short.  

Albondi 1 is unfortunately me (Edith). I have tried and tried to convince Albondi 2 (Sasha) that I am Albondi 2 but the way I eat says otherwise. This is why I am Albondi 1 because a girl can eat!  

During the early stages of our friendship/relationship we became more and more comfortable with each other and joked around a lot. It was winter time and I was eating, can you guess? Albondigas soup with rice that my mom had brought home the night before. While we chatted Sasha asked what I was eating, I told her it was albondigas soup. Before she left she turned around and jokingly said “you ARE an albondiga”. My jaw dropped before we both burst into laughter. And so the name was born and it’s stuck ever since. 

Traveling is becoming more and more part of our life, and although we are sharing this blog with the world, in the end, we will always have this for us. We will cherish this adventure blog forever and maybe we’ll inspire you to travel too.  

We are two human beings, who appreciate the world in different points of view, who stand by eachother, who want to share our experiences of travel, the good, the bad, and the ehh of it all. It’s honest, hopefully funny, light hearted, it’s US.
